The short version: Barbara collects nothing. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your phone, and only on your phone. We couldn't look at your information if we wanted to — it never reaches us.
This policy covers the Barbara mobile application for iOS and Android ("the app") and the website barbaraapp.com ("the site"), operated by Bulk Buy Splitter, Inc ("we," "us"). We've written it in plain language, because a legal document shouldn't add to a hard week.
Nothing. Barbara has no sign-up, no account, and no registration. The app makes no network calls with your information — it does not transmit anything you enter to us or to anyone else.
To personalize your experience, Barbara asks for a few things: your loved one's name, your relationship to them, optionally their faith tradition, your checklist progress, and where you left off. All of it is stored only in your device's local app storage. It is never uploaded, synced, or backed up to any server of ours.
You can erase everything at any time with the app's Start Over option, or by deleting the app. Because we never receive this information, we cannot see it, recover it, or delete it for you — it exists only in your hands.
Barbara can place phone calls that you explicitly start — for example, tapping the 911 button or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. The app requests no access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos, or anything else.
Barbara links to outside resources — government agencies, funeral and legal guides, grief support organizations. These open in an in-app browser, and once you're on those sites, their privacy practices govern, not ours. We choose these links carefully, but we don't control them.
barbaraapp.com works the way the app does: no cookies, no analytics, no trackers, and nothing loaded from third-party servers. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider (DreamHost) automatically keeps standard server logs — things like IP addresses, browser type, and pages requested — for security and operations. We don't use those logs to identify visitors, and we don't combine them with anything else.
If you write to us, we'll see your email address and whatever you tell us. We use that only to reply. We don't add you to mailing lists, and we don't share your message with anyone.
Barbara is not directed at children under 13, and because the app collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information — full stop. There is nothing to sell. This will not change.
Privacy laws in some places give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data an organization holds about you. We hold none, so in almost every case there is nothing for us to produce or erase — but if you have questions or a request, contact us and we'll respond.
If we ever change how Barbara works in a way that affects privacy, we'll update this page and its effective date first. Given what Barbara is, we don't expect to.
